Who’s Number One?

hint….it’s you.

This is another oldie but goodie to support all of us on the Sun conjunct Uranus day at 1 Gemini; I’ve been feeling this all day and am bringing this to the table for the support it deserves.

One is the Sun. It is you. The eternal you, the essence, the inner child. The reference is YOU in the chart. The SUN. Around which all planets revolve. That is one. Whether that is one degree or twenty one degrees, it is a one and it is the sun. The center. Your heart.

Venus and Neptune are conjoining, as I write this, at one degree in Aries for the first time in 180+ years (that’s how long Neptune takes to orbit). So this is a monumental day, in a way.

If one is the Sun in the chart, then the sign the sun rules is Leo. So today, we are getting an extra blast of Leonine love, but in Aries; a sign the Sun happens to be exalted in. Neptune is the gateway to Heaven, to God, the senses, psychic intuition, gut feelings; the inexplicable, the magic. So we are holding that heavenly transmission the same time as Venus, the feminine principle, is opening and allowing that sensical energy to pour down on us. Simply put, big love in God speak for the self turned on full blast.

How does that show up?

This. Knowing upon knowing deep in my soul I need to contribute to this Substack so I have a body of work that I can share that is my own, and no one else’s. It’s not rotting in a hard drive somewhere, like everything else I have written, waiting to be never read.

And I am a person who loves this. I deeply love and have affection for sharing this knowledge, and for a long time I did not for the fear I could not shepherd people to find their way in the language I use. I know now that is not the case. I am open and out loud with this as my profession. And, what is triply cool, is the fact that I sat down to write and I intuited the title and subject. I showed up three hours later and continued writing on it, and here we are.

So who is number one? You. And how is it showing up today? In the way that cannot be explained. In a good feeling way, since the Sun is in Taurus, after all. It’s GORGEOUS outside, after a long cold winter where I live. I have the windows open today and literally two weeks ago I had my wood stove going all day. I shuffled out winter clothes, bought some new things for the summer. Committed to feeling good. Letting my kids do less school work since they are OVER it. Sitting outside to type.

For you, it could be a few pounds shed, or cleaning out a closet, or listening to good music at top volume in the car pool line. Ice cream. Something just for you that connects and something you love that you connect to that opens you up for reception. Which is tricky no? We are as a society obsessed with opening, but insist we have it under lock and key with rigid politeness and restraint in order to avoid pain. So when the sunglasses and the windows can come down, the living is easy. We surrender to the flow, which is how to be present in the first place. Then? Then we can accept the love and give it right back, being a channel instead of a stick in the spokes.

I remember this picture I took at Bonnaroo like 20 years ago of a pole that had painted on it “Accept Not Expect”. At that point, I had been living a life of expectations being filled for others, and I felt the weight of many shoulds. I should be thinner, I should be nicer, I should be less weird, whatever I did in a relationship that threw someone else’s image or image of me off.

Whereas, the accept was lightness. Pure lightness. I had never understood that before. I had such weight thrown at me so young of ‘change yourself’ that the idea of just going with the flow seemed so contrary, so foreign. To ACCEPT myself instead of expect? Holy smokes. That would require a lot of editing of my situation at that time. It blew my mind. I’ve since re-learned this lesson many times, but that to me is Venus.

Whether that one is Leo in the chart, the Sun in the horoscope, or the degree of Venus conjunct Neptune, it’s heavenly, and the self love is beautiful. 1 goes for any degree in the chart as well. I have a daughter who has a 1 Taurus moon; she LOVES to LOVE things. LOVES it. She can get stuck on feelings like Taureans do, but give her some love and it melts. It’s wild. Got a one moon in Libra? Then you love to love yourself in relation to things. 1 Scorpio? Self love means distinction on who is in the inner circle and who is not. A 1 Mars? You act on self love. A 1 Leo sun with Mercury conjunction? The love radiates, and you communicate best through self expression of a playful loving nature.

So enjoy the love today. Remember, who is number one? It’s YOU. what you LOVE. That makes this whole life worth living.
