A Look at 27 Pisces

An oldie but a goodie. I find that in astrology, hindset 20/20 goggles are the key to understanding in a deep and profound way the cyclical nature of time. Enjoy what I wrote a year ago (2025) on a special degree, 27 Pisces; something currently getting lit up by Venus, Mars, Mercury (March 2026).

The North Node represents our ‘North Star’ in an astrology chart; the way forward, the way to handle the energy that all of the other planets are throwing at us. This makes it a point of extra focus, as it stays at step 27 Pisces just long enough for us to go through two eclipses, one on March 14, a lunar eclipse at 23 Virgo, and one on March 29, a Solar Eclipse at 9 Aries.

27 is an Aries ruled degree, as it nets 9: the fight. Aries gets a bad rap much of the time, being impatient, angry, unfocused. The Greeks and Romans loved Mars, however; not just for the drama of war, but for the fight to survive. The fight to have life be exactly the way you want it. The proactive 'I’m afraid, but I am doing it anyway, because I know/feel/love/believe/belong with this' action. The recent New Moon in Pisces was at 9, a lower octave of 27, challenging your ideas of self worth, how you allow you to treat you. We have had 5 new moons at 9 in a series starting with Scorpio; you may know well where you are changing your relationship to the self already.

The step of 9 represents new ways of acting within the self, and unconsciously on any net 9 day we tend to default to busy-ness as the ego likes to be in motion. Step 27 is different, however; it is the multi-layered master path. We interpret it as feeling called to act as sensed, as the 2 in the 27 represents the big feelings of the moon in Cancer and the 7 represents the intuitive energy of Neptune in Pisces.

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. This has been lit by its ruler’s presence, Neptune, upon its ingress since March 2012.

Fun science theory: the Earth’s orbit (and much of Earth’s initial composition) was formed with the Sun and Jupiter fighting gravitational pulls on the inner planets, but Neptune kept everything in orbit with just holding its relationship to the Sun. Metaphorically, it is much like the loving hand of Spirit holding it all together; maintaining course while the rest of the solar system worked itself out. May we look to this for guidance; being held by something greater that is allowing you to shape yourself.

27 is all about trusting the self to take the action when you know it is needed and being patient when it is not. In Pisces in particular, it’s having faith you can make the right decision at the right time. Not a flurry of action, even though we may be tempted to engage.

27 Pisces is also squaring the galactic center at 27 Sagittarius, placing more emphasis on this. If we are being held, and we know we have to act in order to raise the vibration of Earth, then let us make the change we need to see in our world. At the end of the zodiac, it’s not anything new; it’s all about the release of what has had a hold on you. Any karmic repeating situations are asking for a rewrite. The good news? Your release is everyone’s release. Your acceptance is everyone’s acceptance. Your abundance is everyone's abundance.

We teeter this Aries-Pisces energy for a while, as we have giants Neptune and Saturn conjunct, making an ingress into Aries and then retrograde back into Pisces over the next year. No doubt we will have many practice opportunities to master.
